BACK AND EVEN BETTER

Last post I mentioned how eventful and busy the past few weeks have been. Let me fill you in.

I am so excited to say that I'm coming back to ETSU for my fourth year! Every three years, my position requires me to apply for my job; my contract is for three years. Despite positive vibes, I was still nervous about the application/hiring process. I've been so blessed these past three years. ETSU has offered me more experiences than I ever imagined, including traveling to Dubai. This is my dream job and I couldn't imagine my life without my students. My colleagues aren't too shabby either!
My study-abroad class in Abu Dhabi.

Now, having said that, my husband and I are fortunate to be able to move back to Virginia! We'll be back by May and are working feverishly to get our future home in order. My dad has been working every day and we're so thankful for his help! This house has been a home to my parents (their first) and my brother and sister-in-law. It's only fitting the other child and her husband have their turn making it their home. I'll share before and after pics as soon as it's ready! As for work, I will teach online this summer and commute three days a week beginning August. Have I mentioned how blessed I am?

Okay, onto a more personal topic. After months of discomfort, we're close to knowing a diagnosis for my neck/arm/hand pain/tingling/numbness. I couldn't be happier with my neurologist. The first visit left me feeling confident and at peace. The preliminary diagnosis is thoracic outlet syndrome, most likely stemming from a neck injury. Apparently I injured my neck and never knew... Medical tests are almost complete (one more next week). Having a father with a chronic illness has taught me a lot about dealing with illness and I'm so glad he set the example of trusting God!

Lastly, Travis and I took a few days to travel to Charleston, SC during my spring break. It was much needed and we had a wonderful trip! I'll share trip details in my next post.

Thanks for being a part of my journey! God Bless!

  1. So glad you're staying. ETSU would be nothing without someone so enthusiastic and motivational as you.
